Saga
The Saga Group focuses exclusively on the provision of high quality, value-for-money services for people 50 and over. These include holidays to worldwide destinations, an award-winning magazine, insurance and financial products.
In 2000, Saga announced that it would be creating more than 600 new jobs by establishing a new £15m, 50,000ft call centre at EuroKent Business Park in Ramsgate. In addition the company created a further 150 jobs at its existing headquarters in Folkestone, Shepway, where it already employed more than 2,000 people.
The announcement followed extensive work by Locate in Kent in close co-operation with EuroKent’s developer Rosefarm Estates and Thanet District Council.
In April 2007, the company revealed that up to fifty new jobs were being created in Thanet by the Saga Group following a decision to bring Home Insurance claims notification in house.
The expansion in Kent of such a well-known company is a real boost for inward investment in the area, strengthening its reputation as one of the most effective business locations with a high calibre workforce in the UK.
Saga currently employs over 2,500 staff in Kent across their offices in Ramsgate, Sandgate and Folkestone.
