Business grant and relocation in Kent news

RBLI Employment Solutions, a division of the long-established Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI), a charity known for its work with disabled and disadvantaged people, as well as the ex-Service community, has expanded in Kent, allowing it to assist more people with disabilities to find sustainable employment.

RBLI Employment Solutions was awarded a government contract to deliver its ‘Pathways to Work’ programme, which helps anyone claiming a health related benefit get back into the workplace. Locate in Kent, the investment promotion agency for Kent and Medway, assisted the organisation in finding new sites for offices and training centres to deliver the ‘Pathways to Work’ programme.

To date, RBLI Employment Solutions has placed 3,500 clients with disabilities in employment through various work programmes funded by the Department of Work and Pensions and supports the recruitment and retention needs of organisations including Southern Water, ASDA, Kent Police, Mid Kent College and Primary Care Trusts in Kent.

The current economic climate has proved challenging for many organisations, but with RBLI Employment Solutions’ ongoing commitment and innovation, this expansion in Kent has meant it is able to provide continued support to its clients, as well as widening its services to cater for new clients and companies. The move also benefits the local community as businesses have access to well-trained staff.”

RBLI Employment Solutions offers a number of practical supportive services that are designed to meet a client's individual needs, including help with creating CVs andinterview practice. It also provides access to healthcare professionals and specialist workshops to help clients to develop their motivation, confidence and self-reliance and to learn to manage their health condition leading up to and in employment.

Sue Gofton, Employer Relationship Manager Kent at RBLI Employment Solutions, said: “Locate in Kent provided excellent support and advice in finding us the ideal locations for our offices, and we were also able to take advantage of their local knowledge and specialised contacts. The programme has meant that we have grown from 80 people to approximately 200 employees, and we now have seven offices across Kent.”
