Kent Investor Club (KIC) fronts “Business Angels” venture

Tuesday 09th February 2010

Leading regional law firm Cripps Harries Hall LLP hosted the second in a series of meetings for the Kent Investor Club (KIC) on Wednesday 3 February 2010, at their offices in Tunbridge Wells.

Run by regional funding organisation Finance South East, and part funded by Kent County Council, KIC aims to assemble a group of “Business Angels” from within the county, encouraging high net worth individuals to consider investments in early-stage, high-growth business opportunities.

Over a dozen investors attended the meeting and listened to presentations from two Kent based companies - one from the life science sector and the second with an information services proposition.

Nigel Stanford, Partner at Cripps Harries Hall LLP commented:

“The event showed that despite the recession, entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well in Kent. It was a pleasure for us to host the meeting.”

Sally Goodsell, CEO of Finance South East commented:

“We have high hopes for the Kent Investor Club and its potential impact for Kent businesses. It is good to see that we are already attracting members who are new to business angel activity and would welcome more in the future.”

The next meeting of the KIC will take place in Kent on Monday 22 March 2010, venue to be confirmed. For more information about joining KIC contact Florian Schumacher, florian.schumacher@financesoutheast.com, 01276 607307 or visit http://www.financesoutheast.com/
