When Pfizer scaled back its UK operations, PCSL became the first non-Pfizer firm to commit to the newly-named Discovery Park.
The company then increased their laboratory space in the purpose-built facilities that contain the most up-to-date and sophisticated research and development equipment available. As PCSL expanded its operations and workforce it was able to benefit from the skills of former Pfizer scientists, specialists in the chemistry services sector.
Christine Fisher, Operations Manager at Peakdale Molecular, said: “We first came to Kent to improve our service to Pfizer. “We have been incredibly impressed with the high-quality facilities on site and the atmosphere, which is buzzing.
“The rates are very good and we have had no difficulty recruiting staff as there is an abundance of experienced scientists in the county.
“While we originally came to Kent because of Pfizer, it was our choice to stay. We’re now in negotiations to take on new facilities.”
PCSL now offers an embedded discovery service, which, at its most sophisticated level, places its scientists’ renowned skills for project management and problem solving alongside the clients’ own team.
