| Enterprise Zone for Discovery Park |

On the 17th August, Government ministers including the Chancellor George Osbourne, David Willetts, Universities and Science Minister and Greg Clark, Communities and Local Government Minister, with responsibility for Enterprise Zones, visited Dover to announce that Discovery Park, the 99ha site in Sandwich to be vacated by Pfizer, has been granted Enterprise Zone status. The details of benefits available to companies looking to relocate to Enterprise Zone are now available on Locate in Kent's website - www.locateinkent.com/enterprisezone.
Benefits will include business rate discounts of up to £55,000 a year to a maximum total of £275,000. These benefits will be available to any company locating or already located at Discovery Park.
At the same time a new scheme was announced to improve flood prevention measure at the site through combined contributions from Pfizer, the Environmental agency and Kent County Council.
The new website which will be regularly updated with news, includes details of these benefits, FAQs and who to contact for further information.

Kent's business strengths are set to reach a wider audience after Locate in Kent signed a landmark agreement with UK Trade & Investment.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will see Locate in Kent become UKTI's sole point of contact in the county and is aimed at securing maximum levels of overseas investment for Kent.
Locate in Kent is one of only a few organisations across the country to sign an MoU with UKTI.
The MoU will provide Locate in Kent access to a pipeline of projects that may be suited to Kent, with access to UKTI's expertise to hone any proposition to overseas companies and assisting UKTI in providing a more in-depth response to leads they secure, creating a more complete response to companies interested in relocation and expansion in Kent.

With the assistance of Locate in Kent, HR Revolution (see team photo) has recently taken offices in Tunbridge Wells, and plans to create 12 local jobs.
Expanding from offices in Covent Garden, recruitment and HR specialist HR Revolution has taken space at Calverley House in Tunbridge Wells. HR Revolution, previously known as ITRM HR, offers a range of 'virtual' services including free HR and recruitment health-checks, management of policies and procedures, diversity and equality, training and development, employment law and mediation and recruitment process outsourcing. | Leading US security software provider vidsys sets up european office in Dartford |

VidSys, the leading provider of Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software that allows organisations to resolve business and security situations in real time, has chosen to locate its European office at The Nucleus, Dartford, creating three new jobs.
VidSys' PSIM software provides a complete system which collects, tracks, verifies and analyses data to resolve security situations. The company's headquarters is based just outside of Washington, D.C., and it has additional offices in North America and the Middle East. It provides city-wide homeland and public safety security for New York and Los Angeles, among others.
