Our twelve staff, with a wide range of expertise and experience between us, along with two part-time specialists in investor development work alongside our public and private board to create and retain jobs in Kent.
Since forming, Locate in Kent has helped 990 companies move to, set-up or expand in Kent, creating or retaining 62,590 jobs. Last year we helped 46 businesses commit to relocating or expanding in Kent, leading to the creation or retention of 2,915 jobs, with 678 as a result of investment from overseas. In August 2016, Locate in Kent signed a new three year contract with Kent County Council (KCC) and Medway Council to promote Kent as a business location to attract new companies and to support the growth of existing business.
Following a successful bid to the European Union’s European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) by Kent County Council, Locate in Kent’s work has also been given a financial boost. The new money is in addition to the funding support it receives from KCC, Medway Council, Kent Developers Group, and private sector partners such as Cripps, the county’s largest law firm.
