The top 100 practice enjoyed revenues of £12.3m in the six months from 1 May to 31 October, compared to £9.8m in the same period the year before.
The increased revenue has been reflected in a growth in headcount to more than 320 staff and partners, with some 20 people being taken on over the last year. These include one of the country’s most high profile lawyers, Christina Blacklaws, who joined Cripps as director of client services as part of the law firm’s strategy for continued growth.
Gavin Tyler, managing partner at Cripps, said: “This increase shows the firm is on track to achieve the financial performance that its growth strategy aims to deliver and is well placed to significantly exceed £25m in turnover for the whole year.
“This is an exciting period for Cripps. We’ve not only taken on a number of significant new clients in all parts of our business but are expanding the variety of work we do with existing clients – including trailblazing transactions, such as the Chapel Down crowdfunding.
“We have also won some important national and international accolades including Legal Team of the Year (Midsize) in the 2014/15 STEP Private Client Awards.
“Across different types of work, we’re ranging from busy to very busy and are looking forward to a positive second half of the year.”
