A new £30m hospital, One Healthcare Ashford, is due to open in March creating 90 jobs. The Ashford hospital is funded by leading UK healthcare property investor Octopus Healthcare and is being managed by the One Healthcare team.

One Healthcare Ashford is located next to the William Harvey Hospital and has been designed by the William Clark Partnership and built by Conlon Construction. The state-of-the-art hospital has 10 consulting rooms, four operating theatres, four treatment rooms, an endoscopy suite, 20 en-suite rooms, 10 ambulatory care beds and an MRI and imaging suite.

Chief Executive of One Healthcare, Adrian Stevensen says “We are very excited about our investment in Ashford. Our objective is to provide the very best level of care for local people, delivered by leading consultants, in state-of-the-art, well equipped and purpose-built hospital facilities.”

The new hospital is holding a visitors open day on 3 March, between 3pm and 8pm, where guests will be given an escorted tour of the facilities and meet the medical team. A free health scan for each visitor will also be available, subject to availability.

One Healthcare Ashford is the first of many private hospitals across the UK which are planned to deliver affordable private healthcare by leading specialists in a modern and purpose-built environment. The new facilities are modelled on the innovative surgery and diagnostic centres available in the US and Australasia, where patients receive quality, cost-effective medical and surgical care, with all outcomes carefully measured.

The Ashford hospital is easily accessible and has plenty of parking, meaning that visits to hospital are as stress-free as possible. The facility will appoint leading specialist consultants in the areas as well as work in collaboration with private medical insurers, including the St Saviours Medical Charity, which is still operational following the closure of Spires’ St Saviour’s Hospital in Hythe.

Cllr Graham Galpin, Ashford Borough Council’s portfolio holder for the town centres and business, said: “We welcome this significant investment and the first-class facilities that will be provided.”
