Peel Land and Property is seeking investors and partners to back development plans for Chatham Waters, a brownfield site formerly part of the Chatham Docks in Medway.

Peel’s £650 million development plans for the site, which will create 3,500 jobs, also include, 430,000ft2 of office space and a hotel. It has already become home to the Medway University Technical College and an Asda superstore.

Peel plans to build 1,000 homes on the 26-acre site over the next 10 years.

It is expected the homes plans will be funded through a private rented sector (PRS) deal with funds supplied by institutional investors.

Chatham Waters is part of a number of regeneration projects Peel is carrying out on brownfield land at docklands, canals and river banks around the country, backed by private investment.
