There has been further growth for top 20 accountancy firm, Wilkins Kennedy, as they open their 15th office in the South East of the UK. This new office has opened up in Canterbury as a result of a merger with Lakin Clark, as Wilkins Kennedy continues its aim to grow its business in east Kent.

The new Canterbury office joins three existing offices in Kent - in Ashford, Orpington and Sandwich. The merger with Lakin Clark adds a further 18 staff, including two partners and a senior consultant, to the teams under its Southern region. Lakin Clark specialises in a range of sectors, including agriculture, charities, construction, retail, the professions and the service sector and will now trade under the Wilkins Kennedy brand.

Wilkins Kennedy, which was established in 1882, are Locate in Kent corporate partners and has a further 11 offices across the UK and one in the Falkland Islands, employing more than 500 people in addition to 65 Partners.

The Canterbury merger is the latest at the firm and for the Kent region, but Wilkins Kennedy is certainly no stranger to growth. Wilkins Kennedy‚Äôs Ashford office merged with Finn-Kelcey & Chapman in 2008, a provincial practice founded in 1920. The firm continues to maintain the local historical name connection whilst highlighting the availability of the wider service breadth by trading as Wilkins Kennedy FKC.

The new office in Canterbury is actually the second in East Kent to open its doors as Wilkins Kennedy. The Sandwich office opened on 2nd July 2013 and since then, turnover has increased significantly.  At the end of 2015, due to its continued success, it was necessary for the Sandwich office to seek a larger space within Discovery Park.  The office is now located in a much more prominent location.

Along with its Orpington office, Wilkins Kennedy now covers the whole of the Kent region.

Wilkins Kennedy is excited by its continued expansion in Kent and is pleased to welcome the new team to the firm. Wilkins Kennedy and Lakin Clark are a good match in terms of business ethos, as both have a key focus on client relationships and excellent customer service.  The merger will enable the firm to offer clients a wider and more specialist range of services and support whilst retaining the values that have served the Canterbury office so well over the past 34 years.
