What would Brexit mean for your business?
The potential impact of Brexit on businesses in Kent will be put under the microscope at a high profile event being organised by Locate in Kent partner and leading law firm Furley Page and accountancy and financial services firm Kreston Reeves.
The organisers are promising a clear and considered focus on key issues of interest to businesses, including commerce, competition regulation, agriculture and employment law. Joining the line-up of commercial, financial and legal experts is Phil Eckersley from the Bank of England, who will provide invaluable insight into the economy, focusing on matters affecting businesses within the South East.
The event provides an opportunity to meet members of the business community and listen to specialist advisers as they share their views on what a break with the EU could mean for your company. It takes place at Bridgewood Manor Hotel, Chatham on Wednesday 8 June.
Clive Stevens, Chairman and Head of Taxation at Kreston Reeves, says organisers will be ‘taking the temperature’ with their own EU poll during the event.
“Now is the time to settle the European question in British politics. Post referendum the business landscape will undergo significant change, whatever the outcome. It is vital that business leaders stay informed to be able to make the most of this once in a generation opportunity – we look forward to supporting South East business to do just that,” adds Clive.
Peter Hawkes, Senior Partner and Head of Dispute Resolution at Furley Page, says: “As we draw closer to the 23 June referendum, both sides in the debate are turning up the volume on their arguments, attempting to drown out their opponents. Our event will avoid the spin and take a calm and measured look at what Brexit really means for businesses.”
The topics placed under the spotlight by the expert speakers includes:
Following the four short presentations, attendees will be invited to join a discussion on the implications for business with Phil Eckersley, Bank of England Agent for the South East and East Anglia, Clive Stevens of Kreston Reeves, Furley Page’s Peter Hawkes and the panel of speakers.
