The managing director of leading Kent property developer Quinn Estates, Mark Quinn, has been announced as a finalist in the KEiBA (Kent Excellence in Business Awards) Entrepreneur of the Year category.
The prestigious business awards are produced by Kent County Council and KM Media Group to recognise and reward excellence in business, and have been running for eight years. This year over 250 entries were received from all over the county and the finalists were announced at the Kent Vision Live exhibition on 11 May.
Based in Canterbury, Mark Quinn is well-known for his bold ideas and original views on building for future generations. He started in property development when he was 23 when he built his own health club, which he went on to sell for more than £1m. He was inspired to set up his own business after meeting many highly successful business people when he was an international skier and instructor in Europe, and went on to found Quinn Estates in 1997. Almost 20 years on, the company has developed a name for themselves in the Kent development market with a track record for delivering high quality schemes that provide significant benefits for local communities.
Mark Quinn commented, “Having built my business from scratch it means a lot to have my achievements recognised by independent judges and it is a great boost for the whole team here at Quinn Estates. Kent boasts some dynamic entrepreneurs and I am up against some very worthy finalists - I wish everyone the best of luck.”
The awards presentation will be held on Thursday 25 June at the Kent Event Centre, Detling. Other finalists in the category, which is sponsored by Institute of Directors and Creaseys, are Hugh Edeleanu of HE Group of Companies and Wayne Hodgson of Red Eagle Ltd.
Earlier this month, Quinn Estates was highly commended in the prestigious Property Week RESI Awards 2016 for the way in which they have approached development in Kent and promoted the county through the delivery of exceptional projects.
