Childrensalon announce profits over £10 million mark

Tunbridge Wells based luxury children’s clothes retailer, Childrensalon has announced their impressive annual figures, with sales growth at 52%, a turnover of £42.8 million and profits rising to over £10 million.

Childrensalon, a success of Locate in Kent’s, sell designer baby wear and child¬ren’s dresses made by the likes of Armani, Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana. They have seen their customers increase by 47,000 in the past year, and packed more than 800,000 items across more than 200,000 orders.

Last year the company also hired 80 new members of staff, taking it to 170 employees in total. Their impressive growth aspirations mean they anticipate employing 450 people by 2018 as customers grow across the Middle East and Europe.

The company’s success has meant that it was ranked 4th in the MegaGrowth 50 2015 list of Kent’s fastest-growing companies and the Sunday Times Fast Track 100, International Track 200 and Profit Track 100. It also won the Customer Service and Commitment Award at this year’s KEiBA awards.

In her company report, chief executive Michele Harriman-Smith said: “On our website we made constant improvements in our customers’ user journey and invested in further additional editorial content to share our expertise.

“We look forward to 2016 with excitement that we can continue on our quest to become the best loved childrenswear shop in the world.”
