Kent County Council's Transport Innovations team is supporting smarter and more sustainable travel to and from work, with the aim of improving health and well-being, reduce congestion on Kent roads, improve air quality, and save you time and money.
As part of this a Capital Grant of up to £5,000 per workplace is available to improve or provide any physical feature within the grounds of the workplace. The work should support the aims, objectives and targets within a company’s workplace travel plan and encourage sustainable travel to and from work.
Kent County Council is encouraging businesses to be creative and innovative with ideas for funding. A few examples include cycle storage; communications technology & IT equipment; showers, lockers, and changing room facilities; bicycles and gear for the office; signage and road markings and footpath and cycle-path improvements.
To apply for a Capital Grant, you must complete a short travel behaviour questionnaire, the capital grant application form, and staff travel survey, and submit them online by midnight Friday 26th August 2016.
