Kent based law firm Furley Page has received an exceptional set of results in The Legal 500 UK Awards 2016, a top independent national guide to excellence in the legal sector.

Furley Page, who is a corporate partner of Locate in Kent, is recommended in 12 practice areas with eight outstanding individual performances also highlighted. This compares to 11 practice areas and seven lawyers who were named in the 2015 rankings.

The eight lawyers who are recommended are David Hall, Jeremy Ferris and George Crofton-Martin (real estate – property litigation); Andrew Masters (employment); Aaron Spencer (charities and not-for-profit and also for his work in personal tax, trust and probate); Harvey Barrett and Alexandra Gordon (both personal tax, trust and probate); and Christopher Wacher (agriculture and estates).

David Hall, Partner and Head of Property Dispute Resolution, has held his position in the ‘Leading Lawyers’ list of outstanding lawyers nationwide, a standing he was promoted to last year. The Legal 500 annual rankings also praised Furley Page’s ‘approachable and client-focused’ property litigation team, which is led by ‘canny litigator’ David Hall.

Furley Page is recommended in the practice areas of agriculture and estates, commercial litigation, commercial property, corporate and commercial, debt recovery, employment, personal injury, professional negligence, and property litigation. A new recommendation for 2016 is the firm’s insolvency and corporate recovery team.

Also given highly rated are the private client teams specialising in charities and not-for-profit (‘well placed to support the sector wherever advice is required’), and personal tax, trust and probate (Harvey Barrett leads the team, which includes Aaron Spencer who ‘takes the time to engage fully with the client’, and solicitor Alexandra Gordon, who ‘explains things without jargon’).

Senior Partner Peter Hawkes says: “To have increased our standing both in terms of practice areas and individual rankings represents an exceptional result which is testament to Furley Page’s commitment to maintaining and developing the strength of our teams.

“I’m pleased to see so many of our individual lawyers earning national recognition for their tireless work and expertise. We constantly strive to provide our clients with the highest quality service and we’re proud for this to be recognised by this highly-respected guide,” adds Peter.
