One of Furley Page’s talented and recently qualified solicitors has become the latest addition to the Kent law firm’s highly regarded Private Client, Trusts and Estates team.

Melanie Christodoulou, aged 25, spent two years training with Locate in Kent corporate partner Furley Page, which is recognised by independent legal guides Chambers UK and The Legal 500. Prior to joining Furley Page’s trainee solicitor programme, Melanie worked in London as a Corporate M&A Professional Support Legal Assistant at an international law firm, having already gained experience with several regional and national firms.

Melanie, who has Greek parentage and is a fluent Greek speaker, now advises clients on all aspects of Will drafting, administration of estates, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and trust creation and administration.

Harvey Barrett, Partner and Head of Private Client, Trusts and Estates, said: “Melanie is extremely motivated and enthusiastic, and constantly strives to develop her professional skills. She’s a valued member of the team.”

Melanie studied law at the University of Kent in Canterbury, where she graduated with a First Class Honours. She then completed her Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in London, gaining a Distinction.

She joined Furley Page as a trainee solicitor in 2014, gaining experience with the firm’s dispute resolution, vulnerable client and private trust and estates teams. She qualified last month.

As an avid University of Kent alumnus, Melanie acts as a mentor to the university’s law students and every year gives a talk to help them understand the importance of commercial awareness, as well as providing mock interviews to improve their techniques.

When she is not working, Melanie, who is married and lives in Canterbury, is a keen runner and a member of the Canterbury Harriers Running Club.
