New plans to go on display for Binbury Park project

New proposals for Binbury Park

New proposals for Binbury Park

Developer Quinn Estates has announced that amended plans for Binbury Park, a vast development next to the Kent Showground, will go on display to the public on Tuesday 25 October.

Binbury Park is a proposed 350-acre mixed used development, which promises to create the county's largest country park as well as deliver significant strategic highways improvements onto the A249.

Following feedback from more than 100 residents at the first public consultation in August, the plans have now been amended to feature 1,150 homes, 650,000 sq ft of commercial space, a hotel, a local community centre and primary school, highways improvements and new access into the Kent Showground.

The revised proposal also details the new country park and associated open space.
Mark Quinn, chairman of Quinn Estates, said: “The Binbury Park site holds lots of potential and we’re excited to be moving ahead with the next stage of consultation.

“Our vision for Binbury Park is to create a development that will provide economic and leisure opportunities for those living, working and visiting the local area.

"A key advantage of this site, which is adjacent to the Detling Aerodrome Industrial Estate, is that it makes use of existing road infrastructure – unlike a lot of proposed development in locations which don’t have the infrastructure to cope.”

The event will be held on Tuesday 25 October from 5pm to 7.30pm at Detling Village Hall, Pilgrims Way.
