Entrepreneurs Lisa and Steve Wootton are investing £1.5 million to launch Flip Out, one of the world’s largest and most successful trampolining brands, in Ashford. The venture is expected to create up to 60 jobs and will be the first Flip Out to open in East Kent.
Lisa and Steve, who live locally, are converting a 28,000 sq ft former packaging factory on Ashford’s Henwood Industrial Estate to provide the new leisure experience for all ages and abilities.
The new facility will feature dozens of connected trampolines that will allow you to spring, trick or flip off the walls, as well as providing thrilling stunt boxes, wall runners, slam dunks, dodgeball, a Ninja warriors course, and fitness classes.
Flip Out Ashford will also house four rooms for private parties and corporate functions. In addition the owners plan to develop a café on the second floor which they hope will become a popular meeting place for the local community and businesses. There will also be free parking for more than 100 vehicles.
“We’re very excited to be bringing the Flip Out trampolining revolution to Ashford,” says Lisa. “Having often taken our two boys to trampoline parks, we wanted to launch our own venue that would be fun, healthy entertainment not just for kids but for the whole family. It’s also perfect for couples, groups, and companies looking for a team-building experience with a difference.”
Steve adds: “Ashford is the perfect place for East Kent’s first Flip Out. The town is growing rapidly and going through some dynamic changes and we want to be part of that exciting future.
“It’s also our home patch and there’s nothing like this here at the moment. We think Ashford deserves to be part of the Flip Out phenomenon.”
Work on the site is scheduled to start within the next three weeks and the couple anticipate opening their doors in early 2017.
Flip Out originated in Australia in 2012 and there are now seven parks and arenas across the UK, with 25 more in the pipeline. For further information, visit www.flipout.co.uk
