Kent based IT infrastructure company Vooservers has announced an expansion of its operations in the United States, the latest stage of the company’s transformation into a global operator for data services.
These changes include a significant increase in the capacity of its New York data centre and a relocation of its existing West Coast base from Los Angeles to Seattle that will put Vooservers in an excellent position for future growth.
The go-ahead for these improvements will see Vooservers doubling its maximum capacity in the New York datacentre to 400 servers, while also expanding its network to better reach the users of those servers. Meanwhile, the new Seattle datacentre provides a higher standard of quality, giving Vooservers the potential to extend its reach into Asia and Australia.
Vooservers is leading the way for UK plc and has already expanded its UK operations and products to an impressive scale over the last year. Growing from strength to strength, the 13-year-old business is quickly transforming into a global brand.
Vooservers now has datacentres across Maidstone, Frankfurt, New York and Seattle, ensuring additional connectivity on a worldwide basis. A further data centre is also planned for the Asia Pacific region later this year with discussions honing in on Singapore as the most likely location.
This step-up in the company’s capability will provide clients with additional resilience for their ICT requirements – providing sufficient back up support to ensure a consistent, seamless connectivity for all their data needs.
The team is working on a number of innovations that will provide clients with extended control and greater resiliency, wherever they are in the world, ensuring an uninterrupted ICT service.
Matt Parkinson, Technical Director at Vooservers, comments: “Five months into 2017 and it’s already shaping up to be quite a year for Vooservers. We currently operate from four datacentres around the world, with our Kent datacentre being our primary location. These locations were chosen primarily for their strong global core network links.
“The expansion of our existing datacentres around the world, such as our New York centre, is a sign of Vooservers’ positive growth and increasing international profile. In addition, we have relocated premises from LA to Seattle, in order to better respond to demand and provide a better overall service, as we become more of a presence in the US.”
It has been a rapid success story for a company, launched in 2005 by tech entrepreneur Matt Parkinson as a teenager, running the business at home before taking a 100 sq ft space at Vinters Business Park in 2012.
Still only 27-year-old, Matt has grown the business from a one-man operation to a team of ten. With its growing international profile, the company has plans in place to recruit more staff and move into bigger 1,365 sq ft offices at the Maidstone site.
His success has not gone unnoticed with Matt, named this week as a finalist in the Young Entrepreneur of the Year category at the prestigious KEiBA awards, one of the South-East’s most prestigious business awards.
Matt continues: “Our global expansion allows companies to use a single company for I.T. infrastructure and have it moved closer to them as they move around the world. This is something that we already have the ability to do but are working on a number of developments to allow our clients wider control of the service and greater resiliency than ever before.”
