Kent Space, the leading provider of serviced offices and self-storage space in Kent, opened its new facility on the Kingsnorth Industrial Estate in Ashford earlier in the year and now has plans to extend its capacity significantly.

The firm provides their customers with easy in and out terms on professional, modern and secure serviced office space, as well as flexible self-storage solutions.

The Ashford site was refurbished between June and October 2014 totalling investment of around £4million and is home to 24 companies with a payroll of more than 200 employees. The facility provides 27 high-quality serviced office suites for up to 10 people, two hi-tech meeting rooms and 300-plus self-storage units ranging from 15 to 200 sq ft.

During 2016/17 further investment is planned to fit out a further 30 serviced office suites and 400 storage units. This expansion is ahead of target and is partly due to Ashford’s excellent business location and Kent’s buoyant economic climate.

Ashford has earned recognition as the best place to do business in the region due to its unrivalled connectivity. This honour comes as a result of a recent perception study of over 300 business leaders, developers and investors carried out by inward investment agency Locate in Kent. The business poll gave top marks to Ashford’s road and rail links, proximity to Europe and London, the availability of development sites and the flexible and welcoming approach of the pro-business local authority.

Kent Space’s Suzanne Knowles said: “When you consider the future development plans for Ashford and the local area, together with its fantastic road and rail links, we were very keen to agree terms and purchase the Letraset building from Quinn Estates as soon as possible. The availability of high-speed 100MB internet access was an additional positive factor.”

“We are proud of the unique facilities we offer which also include fully furnished offices, 24/7 access, full climate control, allocated parking and CCTV coverage supported by state-of-the-art keyless security systems.”

Cllr Graham Galpin, Ashford Borough Council’s portfolio holder for business, said: “I’m pleased that Kent Space is in a position to extend its capacity, in addition to the businesses and jobs that have been attracted there so far. We are very keen for Ashford to be a thriving business hub for major companies and entrepreneurs, so opportunities like this are positively encouraged. It’s through initiatives such as this that Ashford will remain the number one business location in Kent.”
