EUROPEAN REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT FUND
Locate in Kent’s role to promote Kent and Medway as a business location and support the creation of new jobs is also financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
Following a successful bid to the European Union’s European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) by Kent County Council in 2016, Locate in Kent received £1,751,891 of funding as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020. This money is in addition to the funding support Locate in Kent receives from Kent County Council, Medway Council, Kent Developers Group, and private sector partners such as Cripps, the county’s largest law firm.
The Department for Communities and Local Government is the Managing Authority for European Regional Development Funds (ERDF). Established by the European Union, ERDF help local areas stimulate their economic development by investing in projects which will support innovation, businesses, create jobs and local community regenerations.
