Business Size:

SME: Small or medium-sized enterprise, or SME, as defined by the European Commission is a business or company: that has fewer than 250 employees.
Large: A large business usually has at least 5000 employees and/or has an annual turnover greater than 1.5 billion euros and a balance sheet total of more than 2 billion euros.
Funding Types:
Loans: Money that is borrowed and has to be paid back, usually together with interest.
Grants: An amount of money given especially by the government bodies to a person or organisation for a special purpose.
Tax Relief: Relief from paying tax on a part of your income.
Rate Relief: Reduction in the amount of tax a small business has topay on the value of its buildings.

An angel investor network that welcomes applications from businesses in any sector with investments of £50k to £2m considered. Products must be beyond proof of concept stage. Business model is key.

South East Business Boost
Growth grants of £1,000 to maximum of £10,000 for SMEs in Kent. The programme can fund up to 30% of the costs of qualifying projects, with the remaining 70% being met by the business. Available to new and existing SMEs (including start-ups) in all sectors who are looking to access in-depth, specialist business support and grant funding. This project provides an enhanced, complementary service to SELEP’s core Growth Hub activities.

Transport and Logistical Efficiencies is supported by the European Regional Development Fund and managed by the Haven Gateway Partnership. This project will support SMEs in the Logistics sector to better understand and analyse their data to increase their efficiency.
