GSE Plant Hire buys its biggest ever piece of kit

21st August 2018

GSE Plant Hire has just taken delivery of its largest ever piece of machinery – a 30 tonne excavator.

The Kobelco SK300-10 machine will play a major role in supporting the GSE Civil Engineering team on the development of Waterbrook, the 140 acre site near junction 10 of the M20 at Ashford.

Brendan Minter, Director of GSE Plant Hire, said: “Half as big again as our previous largest excavator, the Kobelco has immense lifting capabilities. When combined with its large bucket the machine is perfect to help with the laying of heavy pipework and creating the bulk earthworks across the 140 acre site.”

GSE Plant Hire has also purchased its first ever Caterpillar 725C2 Articulated Dump Truck, a 25 tonne machine specifically designed to transport bulk materials around the site.

Darrell Healey, Managing Director of GSE Group, said: “We are very keen to get the groundworks under way soon so we can make progress at Waterbrook before the winter months. This £330,000 investment will make the team more productive than just using the smaller 20t machines.”

When not being used at Waterbrook, the Kobelco and Caterpillar are available to hire as part of GSE Plant Hire’s £5m portfolio of groundworks machinery.

was purchased from Molson Group and the Caterpillar from the Ashford office of Finning Cat.
