The East Kent Apprenticeship Awards is looking for the workplace superstars of the future, asking businesses across east Kent to nominate their top apprentices for these prestigious awards, while also giving employers the chance to showcase their apprenticeship provision.
Back for a second year, the East Kent Apprenticeships Awards (EKAAs) celebrate exceptional apprentices and apprenticeships throughout businesses across this dynamic area of Kent. There are six apprenticeship categories to choose from this year, which include Health and Beauty; Business Administration; Hospitality and Retail and Construction and Engineering. This year the Creative and Digital, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) categories are new, and reflect the growing demand for these key skillsets in the east Kent economy.
In addition, there are awards focused on businesses and organisations which go the extra mile to support high quality apprenticeships, including Private Sector Organisation of the Year and Public Sector Organisation of The Year. The East Kent Apprenticeship Champion of the Year, meanwhile, celebrates the individual who has acted as east Kent’s best ambassador for apprenticeships, going above and beyond to promote these opportunities to a wider audience across the area and further afield.
Kent creative and content agency, Pillory Barn is organising the awards in partnership with EKC Group. The EKAAs are also proud to have the support of sponsors ITL Group, Pfizer, Discovery Park and BAM Construction.
Miranda Chapman, Managing Director, Pillory Barn, said: “We are delighted to be organising the awards in partnership with EKC Group. These awards offer the perfect opportunity to recognise the fantastic contribution apprenticeships make to the workplace, as well as the businesses and public sector organisations supporting them.”
To enter the awards, visit www.eka-awards.co.uk and complete the nomination form for one or more selected categories, explaining in no more than 250 words why your nominee deserves recognition. Awards are welcome from the Ashford, Folkestone & Hythe, Canterbury, Swale, Thanet and Dover districts of Kent.
All businesses and people nominated for an award will be automatically entered into a prize draw with a £100, £50 and £25 Amazon voucher up for grabs. The deadline for nominations is 5pm on Friday, 20 December 2019.
The winners will be announced at a special gala dinner event which will take place at The Yarrow hotel in Broadstairs on Wednesday, 5 February 2020. The awards evening coincides with events to mark National Apprenticeship Week.
