Locate in Kent join call to invest in the UK’s gateway to growth at UKREiiF 2025 conference

Kent has the right location, connections, skills and business opportunities to power jobs and growth for the county, southeast region and the wider UK economy.

That’ll be the message that Locate in Kent, Kent County Council, Medway Council and the Thames Estuary Growth Board will be taking to UKREiiF 2025 which starts in Leeds today (May 20) and continues through to Thursday (May 2022).

The event will showcase 50 of the region’s most exciting prospects for growth from major infrastructure improvements, including the recently approved Lower Thames Crossing, and expansion of life science space at Discovery Park, one of three science parks in the county, to sites of creative ambition at Dover Beacon and Chatham Creative Quarters.

With more than 73,485 businesses and a diverse economy worth £44bn, excellent transport links between London, continental Europe and the rest of the UK, Kent and Medway is already making a major contribution to growing the UK’s priority industry sectors that will form part of the UK government’s new Industrial Strategy due for publication this summer.

Delegates at UKREiiF will hear about the region’s particular strengths in Life Sciences, the Creative Industries and Advanced Manufacturing as well as agri-food. A strong cluster of defence-led manufacturers, including BAE Systems plus innovative work in the development of clean energy technologies will also be highlighted.
