Case Study

BJF Group

Kent born multi-division construction company BJF Connections now trading as BJF Group, has come a long way since 2007. Managing Director Barry Foster is in no doubt that the county has played a significant part in their ongoing success and growth.

Since starting BJF in 2007, Barry has been driving the company forward and has been instrumental in growing the team to now over 130 full time employees. Kent has proven to be a great location to do business, with the firm regularly securing work from London and surrounding counties.

Having always lived in Kent, Barry feels the connectivity of the county has played a huge part in the growth and success of, not only his business, but the county as a whole. As well as offering the business access to a highly skilled workforce.

“Kent gives us access to a large pool of highly skilled workers. We are based in a highly populated area with a lot of local talent and experience in the construction sector”

Last year the rapidly growing construction firm was recognised by BDO as one of the top 100 fastest growing businesses in Kent over the past three years. The came about partly as a result of having secured a number of highly coveted contracts and projects including the maintenance and delivery of projects for the Ministry of Defence across their estate including Sandhurst and Woolwich Barracks as well as playing a part at the Olympic Games and working for the Prison Service and NHS.

So, what’s next for BJF Group? Well, having secured a very strategically placed and commercially viable site in the county, plans are underway to develop its Head Office site located just outside of Maidstone into a business park for commercial use.

It is an exciting time for this local company as they continue to grow and invest in the county.
