Construction underway for open-air leisure and residential destination in Canterbury

A £115 million mixed use development at the centre of a new leisure quarter in Canterbury – the Riverside – is taking shape, ready to welcome visitors from summer 2021.

Bouygues UK started construction on the 8.4 acre site, overlooking the River Stour, in January 2020 with piling now complete and the construction of the super structure now underway.

The commercial and student elements of the scheme are on course for completion for the end of next summer/early next autumn, with the residential development due for completion in 2023.

There has been a high level of enquiries for this new leisure destination from national, regional and local restaurateurs, bars, coffee shops and retailers, and there are ongoing discussions with selected operators for 4 units within the scheme.
It is exciting to have to the construction of an open-air leisure and residential destination, with public open space for meeting and for leisure time, well underway. To find out more click here.
